Home Health Agencies
KS Consulting works with new and existing licensed and Medicare Home Health Agencies. Working with internal staff,
we identify ways to effectively manage the per episode reimbursement of Medicare from initial referral to final payment
of service. We review systems and clinical staff competency relative to the OASIS case management and provide
training to improve quality outcome measures. To assist new providers and existing agencies during times of
transition, we offer interim management services and recruitment assistance for permanent staff.
Our strategic analysis of agency services and market position helps determine options for growth and/or
diversification. During the consultation process, we review options for computer software and the need
for upgrade versus more effective implementation of existing software. We provide a step-by-step
process for new agency startup including state licensure and Medicare certification. Working closely
with key personnel and support staff, we guide staff through the preparation for an accreditation
survey and related quality improvement requirements.

Hospice
KS Consulting principals work closely with organizational leadership to review existing organizational practices
and systems and identify areas of fiscal and management concern. We conduct a thorough review of the
effectiveness of the interdisciplinary team model as well as the utilization of volunteers, spiritual counselors
and bereavement services. We also assess the utilization of the medical director and pharmacy services in
pain and symptom management. Working within organizational goals, we help identify and implement
strategies to increase timely referral for service and length of stay. As part of our fiscal overview,
we can help develop approaches to expanding the level of donations and bequests from families
and the community. From an operational viewpoint, we provide interim management and leadership
training in hospice service delivery and review the attributes of an integrated model with a home
health program versus a separate service unit for hospice.

Assisted Living and Adult Family Homes
KS Consulting provides guidance in the establishment of policies and procedures to manage the health care needs
of residents. We can help train facility staff in the assessment of resident needs and establish a system for
maintaining individual service plans. We can help establish the necessary interagency agreements for timely
access to health care services in the community. We work closely with staff to develop effective communication
skills for interaction with residents and their families and develop guidelines for the level of care the facility is
qualified to safely provide. In addition, we help organizations prepare for annual licensure survey and follow up
plans of correction as well as providing short-term services.
